DVB Scene Publishes Our Joint Article with Sofia Digital: A Pragmatic Path to Hybrid DVB-I
The latest issue of the DVB Scene magazine features a technical article co-authored by Juha Joki from Sofia Digital and TARA Systems‘ Michael Schäfer, outlining a practical migration path to DVB-I.
Titled „Broadcast at the core: a pragmatic blueprint for hybrid DVB-I“, the article presents a live end-to-end demo system, initiated by SES, that was developed by Sofia Digital and TARA Systems for DVB World 2025. We contributed by porting our DVB/IPTV Solution to the STB, including the TV app and our DVB-I client implementation.
The solution shows how broadcasters can deliver DVB-I service discovery via the existing broadcast signal – eliminating the need for broadband during initial setup. The concept: enhance, not replace, current broadcast infrastructure.
