Optimising Our Web-based Teletext Solution for the Large Scale
Operators run our Teletext Converters on their backend server 24/7 to receive, convert and store the Teletext pages from many different TV channels in real-time. Depending on the number of TV channels, several thousand Teletext pages are processed each second by the Teletext Converters on the operator’s backend server. To improve the performance of the Teletext Converter, we have completely reworked the caching of the Teletext pages and optimised the access to the backend storage device.
Furthermore, we extended the monitoring capabilities of the Teletext Converter to allow the operator to check the correct functioning and performance statistics of the Teletext service at any time. This ensures the operation of a highly available, large-scale Teletext service with many TV channels for a large number of consumer devices.
