LiveOn TV App with DVB-I Regionalisation Shown at IBC 2022

Our LiveOn TV Application supports playback of various TV signal sources on Android platforms using our Inaris TV Solution. One of the sources is delivery according to the DVB-I standard. In this case, it uses service lists in the DVB-I specific format and streams complying with DVB-DASH. One DVB-I feature of particular interest for broadcasters is the regionalisation of service lists: The user passes information about its geo-location, e.g. a postal code, and the DVB-I server provides a suitable service list, including the correct regional channels.

This regionalisation feature has been implemented in LiveOn TV and will be presented this year at Amsterdam’s IBC 2022 trade fair. At the EBU booth 10.D21, our partner Bayerische Medientechnik (BMT) shows as part of the “DVB-I Pilot Deutschland”, our LiveOn TV Application running on the Nokia Streaming Box 8000 Android TV platform. In combination with the service list server of BMT and compliant with the DVB-I standard, LiveOn TV supports regionalisation by entering a German postal code. Furthermore, we support the HbbTV offering of the broadcasters on the available channels.

Feel free to visit the EBU booth and look at our joint demonstration with Bayerische Medientechnik.
