Inaris Media Player Adopts Android MediaCodec

We have updated our Inaris Media Player for Android TV to adopt the Android MediaCodec API for audio and video decoding. This important enhancement offers several advantages over using platform-specific APIs. 

Using the MediaCodec API makes the Inaris Media Player independent of any platform-specific API. This means that the Inaris Media Player can be used unchanged on any Android TV platform. For operator-specific devices, this allows the Inaris Media Player to be easily deployed on other hardware platforms. 

But even more, as the MediaCodec API is available on all Android devices, the Inaris Media Player can now also be used for applications for other Android devices, such as smart TVs, tablets and mobile phones. This extends the application possibilities of our Inaris Media Player to many different device classes using the same Media Player for all Android devices.
