Seamless Playback for Personalized Ad Insertions

Classic television has always been used to broadcast advertising with the actual program. These broadcasts via DVB or IPTV show all viewers the same advertising.

With the increasing spread of the Internet, more and more content is available via OTT services. HTTP-based protocols, such as HLS or DASH, are used, which allow each viewer to call up individual content. It is now possible to support advertising tailored to each viewer. The advertising can be inserted server-side or client-side in the playback device.

The playback of the inserted personalized advertising must take place without interruption. If the advertising is added on client-side the player must request the advertising separately and insert it into the content without gaps. Our player supports all requirements to play personalized ads frame-accurate and seamless without interruption.
